In 2021, when I was toying with the idea of leaving the film industry for animation, I decided to commit to a 10-week intensive storyboarding course. Under the mentorship of Emmy-winning director and story artist Zesung Kang, I developed and storyboarded an original sequence from scratch, drawing heavy inspiration from a friend who works as an underwater archaeologist.

The precise feedback and invaluable guest lectures by industry veterans helped adapt my cinematic drafting for animation. The course fundamentally changed how I approach storytelling, pacing, and framing, and it completely solidified my decision to pursue motion and illustration full-time.
