AZZURRA - "RIDE"

I was approached by singer-songwriter Azzurra to design a music video for her single Ride. The video was meant to visually echo the soft, ethereal quality of her sound and lyrics. Along with the director Marta Gobbi we have decided to combine hand-drawn animation with a tangible, handcrafted aesthetic, in order to create a world that feels both intimate and surreal.

At the heart of the video, the singer stands as the city unfolds and expands around her - a reflection of her inner growth. The set combines illustrated buildings, drawn in Photoshop and animated in After Effects, with a paper city, which I created and Marta Gobbi photographed.
